Remember how almost two years ago I said I was going to organize a zine fest? No? I couldn’t get it out of my head, because the idea of publicizing something only to never complete it was eating away at me. I didn’t want to be that person.
The good news is I’m not. The inaugural Southeast Zine Fest is actually, truly happening, on Oct. 20, 2012 at Redux Contemporary Art Center, which is probably one of the coolest spaces in Charleston. We’ve got some tablers already confirmed, a big ol’ box of Microcosm stuff to sell, planned demos, and more.
And, like all creative projects nowadays, we have a Kickstarter. We’re only trying to raise $1,200, which is, like, pennies in Kickstarter terms.
I hope you can come, or send a zine, or send good thoughts, or give us $1, but mostly, I hope you come. Because zines are cool and the people we have tabling are cool and everything in the world on Oct. 20 will be very cool.
